Kelly Ripa is apparently thinking about calling Michael Strahan back to co-host LIVE because she fears the arrival of Megyn Kelly on a rival network will destroy her ratings.
According to a source close to Mrs. Ripa, she has been having nightmares thinking about Kelly’s new morning show that will start in the fall.
The former attorney, who used to host the highly-popular The Kelly File, left the Fox News network after a decade for NBC earlier this year.
The tough interviewer, who is famous for feuding with then-candidate Donald Trump and former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, is hoping to become the next Oprah Winfrey.
She will have a show either at 9 AM or 10 AM. The talented anchor will also be hosting a Sunday night show where she will conduct major interviews with American and world leaders.
Meanwhile, one year after Strahan exited LIVE for Good Morning America, Mrs. Ripa is still searching for a co-host.
Over 100 celebrities have been featured as guest-host on the morning show, and Ripa has not been able to make up her mind.
According to sources, the former All My Children star is hoping to find someone who can provide her with the kind of ratings Mrs. Kelly is known for.
The insider, who is close to Ripa, explained the trouble that she is going through at the moment: “Kelly is making herself crazy that Megyn will cream her!”
The person confirmed that is the reason why it is taking so long to find a new partner for Ripa: “The reason they have not found a replacement yet for her former co-host Michael Strahan is that Kelly is insisting they try out everyone to find the perfect person to join their team.”
The source concluded by: “Kelly thought Megyn could be a good fit. She had even considered renaming the show ‘Live! With Kelly and Kelly. Now, it seems like Kelly feels betrayed — in addition to being worried.”
